HOLIDAY SHIPPING DETAILS
As much as we wish we could guarantee arrival by a certain date, we cannot this year. The entire postal system is maxed to capacity between the holidays and covid. To be safe, we are recommending orders be placed by December 15th at the latest. We believe this will allow sufficient time for all orders to arrive nationwide.
If you are local to the Atlanta area and would like to drive to Decatur to pick up your order, please use the code PICKUP in the discount section when ordering. Holiday orders must be picked up by December 23rd.
From now through December 22, we will be offering free delivery to select zip codes: 30002, 30030, 30032, 30033, 30079, 30306, 30307, 30317, and 30329. I have not set a minimum order amount; I trust that you will be kind and not have me drive across Atlanta for a single bar of soap. :) To take advantage of this offer, please put DELIVERY in the discount code at checkout. I will be making deliveries on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays only. This is a pilot offer subject to change--there is only one me after all! If you need your order sooner, please use the PICKUP option.
We have updated our shipping policies and want to be completely transparent about the reasons for this change.
Here is the short version. Shipping rates are now $6.99 for orders under $75 and free for orders above that. We have free pickup for folks who are local to the Atlanta area and wish to drive to Decatur. Please order early for holiday shipping.* Priority Express is available upon request; please contact me first to calculate a rate.
For those who want the whole story, here you go. Determining shipping costs is probably the most complicated part of running a product-based business, particularly when there is a large variation in product weights and sizes. We have a commercial account with USPS, which saves us a modest amount over retail rates.
We use Priority mail for 90% of our orders which costs us a minimum of $7.68, not accounting for packaging materials or our time. The most we charge for shipping is $6.99 so it's a good deal.
Additionally, USPS is increasing commercial rates for the peak holiday season (Oct 18-Dec 27). The prices they charge me will go up by $0.40 for all packages. For example, a flat rate padded envelope will cost us $8.15 during the holiday season, but your rate will remain the same.
We understand there have been issues with USPS and we feel your pain. Up until now (knock on wood), we haven't had problems with orders taking much longer than 4 business days to reach their destination. However, with the expected volume of shipping during the holidays, please please please, ship early. If you need Priority Express service (overnight), contact me and I will get a quote. The rates start at $23.
We have looked into switching to UPS or FedEx but their rates are higher. Despite everything, USPS is still the best option for shipping packages.
Currently, I can only ship to the United States. Contact me if you would like to order from Canada and I will calculate a rate. I can ship to APO/FPO/DPO addresses but it will take longer to arrive.
Free, local pick up in Decatur GA is always available; use code PICKUP at checkout. I will contact you to arrange pickup. If you are unable to get to Decatur, please choose to have your product shipped.
We want you to love everything about your order. Please reach out to us right away if you are unhappy. But please remember, variations in color and design may occur because our products are handmade in small batches. We are unable to refund or exchange a product because they are not to your taste. If there is damage or a defect, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org within 7 days of delivery and we will make it right.
We are unable to offer refunds on shipping.
